Equipment
1 KitchenAid Mixer
Ingredients
1/2
cup
Sourdough Starter
3/4
cup
lukewarm water
1
tsp
granulated sugar
1
packet
Instant Yeast (equal to 2 tsp)
1
tsp
Salt
2
cups
all purpose flour
1
tsp
baking powder
Instructions
In a mixer (we use a kitchenaid mixer) add in the sourdough starter, water, sugar, yeast, salt, and flour
Mix dough in the mixer for about 5 minutes (It should be sticky dough but not enough that pieces stick to your hands)
Form the dough into a ball
Take a bowl (we use the bowl of a stand mixer), spray the bowl, and place ball of dough in it
Cover bowl with a towel, let it sit in a warm place and let the dough rise for about an 1hr and 30 mins or until it's doubled in size
Roll dough out with about 2 tsp of flour
Cut into forths. From there, roll out the sections and cut into little pieces (this will be the size of your pretzel bites)
Place pretzel sized dough on a cookie sheet with parchment paper
Heat 1/2 cup of water until it boils
Add 1 tsp of baking soda to boiling water
Brush this water and baking soda mix onto pretzel bites
Pre heat oven to 500 degrees
While oven is preheating, cover pretzel bites with a towel to allow them to rise a little more
Put in the oven for 8 minutes. Pretzels will be golden brown.
